The response from Districts 2201,2202 and 2203 DANA Crisis Committee 24. 11/15/2024
Dear Rotarians,
We inform you that to date, through the FHRE account we have received donations amounting to €255,377.07, of which we have spent €91,888.99 and we have a balance of €163,488.08.
We also collect here the donations that the districts have made, invoices that suppliers have not wanted to collect and the contributions that many clubs have taken to the delivery warehouses, set up by the Torrent and Valencia clubs.
We want to insist that the warehouses are full, and that they must be emptied, and of course, thank the companies that have selflessly lent them to us, but we have to empty them so that they can return to their normal activity. Many of them were donated by Rotarians who are financially supporting this situation.
Based on the effectiveness and from now on, the economic aids will have to be directed towards the formulation of a GLOBAL GRANT that will allow us to act in the reconstruction stage of the lives of our neighbors. We have already committed almost 200,000 dollars between private donations, from clubs, from foreign districts, etc. and Rotary International confirms that it will approve it urgently. The Global Grant, as the second phase of the Common Action of the three Districts 2201, 2202 and 2203, will give continuity, attending during the next months, other kinds of needs and demands, which will be part of the Project to be presented.
We should feel proud of the work we are doing, of the help of all kinds that we are providing and in which we are collaborating. And of course the thousands of hours of work dedicated and that remain to be done.
