I will be speaking about the progress of the Whistleblowing Bill in the UK and why this is important to the International Community. 

Background - the UK Government has confirmed that it is now considering the introduction of an Office of the Whistleblower (OWB) in the UK. As part of the EU directive on Whistleblowing member states had the option to include an OWB to date this has not been implemented by anyone except those outside of the EU. I will share a few whistleblower stories and why creating environments in which every citizen feels safe to speak up is important and the cultural and historical boundaries to it.
