Cudeca One in a Million Fund
To form a lasting legacy for Joan Hunt, Cudeca undertook fundraising to create the first ever hospice palliative care unit for children and teenagers in Spain. The club donated 250€.
"One in a Million" Campaign
This began as a tribute to the recently deceased pioneer of palliative care in Spain and founder of Cudeca Hospice, Joan Hunt. Not only was she ‘one in a million’, Cudeca aimed to raise a million euros to create and manage a pediatric palliative facility for 4 years.
In addition to providing an in-patient facility, the money raised will support the organisation and training of a team of professionals to provide home care, day-care and in-patient care for children and teenagers suffering from the life-limiting conditions suffered by children that are considered appropriate for children’s palliative care which is currently only available in adult facilities.
