Home of Hope for Girls
Home of Hope for Girls is one of the three named charities for a GALA CHARITY BALL in October. Our aim is still to contribute towards the purchase of a coach to take the girls to and from school daily in safety.
See images below for letter of Gratitude from Home of Hope for the donation of R440,000 towards the coach.
OUR VISION IS SIMPLE
To end child trafficking in South Africa and the culture of exploitation and violence which robs children of their future.
To restore safety, dignity and opportunity to those who have survived abuse.
Home of Hope for Girls provides a safe residence to children and teens facing abusive situations, predominantly linked to child sex trafficking. Offering compassion and acceptance, we are firm in our belief that a girl's background does not define her future, and that given the chance she has the potential to lead her community.
There are two homes in the suburbs of Johannesburg, in addition to an outreach centre in the Hillbrow/Berea area. In total, there are 75 girls in full-time care and another 150 children are supported by the outreach programme.
Founder Khanyisile Motsa, “Mam Khanyi”, has undergone extensive training in trauma counselling, the prevention of child trafficking and courses with reputable international organisations, including the International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) and Global Fund for Children.
